ITEGRITI was awarded an engagement to perform validation prior to packaging evidence for delivery to regulators. The overall project was managed by one of the Big 4 firms in a “war room” setting with individually numbered index cards having task descriptions and assignments written on each. These cards were moved across a physical board according to latest work performed. Two or three people were responsible for assessing status each night and creating PowerPoint slides for 8AM meetings with executive leadership. Because of the number of tasks and personnel involved, these PowerPoint slides were often updated during the morning status calls to more accurately reflect progress. ITEGRITI remained focused on our engagement but we saw a better way to solve this need.
We developed a multi-user database that contains the essential elements from NERC CIP requirements and measures, compliance assessment approach, and organizational lessons learned that is presented in the same manner as data requests in NERC’s Evidence Request Tool. A dynamic status report is available at the click of a button that produces a report endearingly referred to as MOAR (The Mother of All Reports). This tool has been useful for this client to internally assess the compliance and audit readiness across multiple new control centers. It is also what ITEGRITI uses internally when we engage clients on projects related to audit preparation and gap analysis, and in serving our managed services clients.
